In Glattfelden, a Sponti-Car has been available for a short time now – and also a public charging station for all electric cars – another step on the way to modern and community-supported mobility. With this offer, the population gains the possibility to be flexible and at the same time resource-efficient while on the move. Because instead of owning a private vehicle that often sits unused, one can now book a car at any time when it is really needed.
The benefits are obvious: On the one hand, carsharing relieves the environment, as fewer vehicles need to be produced and maintained; on the other hand, users benefit from low costs and an uncomplicated handling. With just a few clicks the vehicle is reserved, and the ride can already begin – whether for the daily shopping, a doctor's appointment, or a spontaneous weekend outing.
For the municipality, this new offering means more than just additional comfort. It is an expression of a clear commitment to sustainability, innovation and cooperation. Mobility is a central topic that has significance far beyond the village borders. With the introduction of a spontaneous car, Glattfelden shows that even smaller municipalities can take responsibility and actively contribute to the reduction of emissions.
At the same time, the project serves as an invitation to other municipalities to follow this path as well. The more locations participate in the Sponti-Car network, the greater the benefit for all parties involved. A dense network of vehicles strengthens the attractiveness of the offer, makes everyday life easier for many people, and helps promote awareness of communal usage.
With the rollout in Glattfelden, Sponti-Car makes another statement: mobility of tomorrow does not mean giving up, but conscious sharing, reliable availability, and a strengthening of the common good.
