Pass A38 – Asterix and Obelix conquer Rome

Continuation from three to one strike

Who can still recall the wonderful episode from „Asterix and Obelix conquer Rome“? The Passierschein A38. An endless hunt for the correct authority, form and missing contacts. Actually I personally don't want to conquer Rome. I don't even have such big goals myself.
I would already be satisfied if we could Renault Group Switzerland find a solution for our, by now four defective Renault Zoes.

For all those who are joining here for the first time, we have had 3 Renault Zoes practically fail in parallel with major defects. You can find the LinkedIn post in the profile.
A fourth car has now also refused service.

The phone to call Renault's roadside assistance reminded me strongly of the amusing hunt for the Passierschein A38. Just like with Asterix and Obelix, it is a real test of patience until the customer service manages to dispatch the roadside assistance.

Memory log of the conversation:

Renaut Pannendienst (RP): «Good day, this is the Renault roadside assistance. How can we help»
Sponti-Car (SC): «Our car with license plate XXX has a breakdown»
RP: «I’ll check quickly, unfortunately you have no coverage»
SC: «However, we have battery rental contracts. It is included therein»
RP: «I’ll look up»
Hold music
RP: «No, you have no coverage»
SC: «However we have the contracts. I can email them to you»
RP: «I need to inquire about that»
Hold music
RP: «No, we see no coverage»
SC: «Here is the contract number. It is listed there. In clause XXX»
RP: «That doesn’t help me, I see no coverage»
SC. «Please send a roadside assistance, we’ll settle it directly with Renault»
RP: «I can’t do that without a cost credit»
SC: «But it is a contractual service that we pay for every month»
RP: «That may be, but we have no coverage in the system»
……

Like Asterix and Obelix, perseverance has paid off: Asterix and Obelix have received the Passierschein A38. With us the broken car has now been collected. Whether there will be an invoice again or not, we'll wait and see.

The worst part about it: We have already played it out many times with the roadside assistance. Every time the same comedic theater. Unfortunately, the Renault roadside assistance fails to improve itself.

For everyone who wants to play Asterix and Obelix themselves:

The Renault roadside assistance can be reached at 044 834 1 00. As a reference you can use chassis number: VF1AG000264437708.

It is one of our vehicles with a battery lease contract.

I am looking forward to the description of the conversation. I would be pleased with a corresponding article.

I will keep you updated…..
